Course registration policies

  • Pre-registration and payment is required for all classes
  • Late registrations: People who register within 6 days of a Certification classroom course will not receive the pre-course material. They will receive all materials upon arrival at class.
  • Rescheduling: A request to reschedule must be received  10 days before the class and include the $30 rescheduling fee. Please specify the date you can no longer attend and the new date you want to attend, please include your mailing information and email address. You may reschedule a course once within 90 days, after that you must reschedule and repay the full course fee.
  • No Shows: People not present for their scheduled class or exam date must re-register and repay the full course fee.
  • Change a registration: You may substitute a person for one who cannot attend a scheduled course once. This request must be received in writing at least 10 days before the course date and include the $30 change of registration fee. You must provide the names and dates of both the registered person and the new attendee, and the date of the scheduled course.
  • Replacement Certificates: Safe Food Training replacement certificates are $15

      1. Payment for replacement certificate fee of $15
      2. Date of course you attended
      3. Your name clearly spelled out
      4. Self addressed stamped envelope
  • Online Course:
    • A refund, minus a $30 service fee is allowed within 30 days of purchase if only Lesson 1 has been started and the materials are returned undamaged.
    • If lesson 2 has not been started, the course can be assigned to another person for up to one month for a $30 name change fee.
    • Certified Food Manager online participants may reschedule their exam date once for a rescheduling fee of $30 (see course policies for details)
  • Safe Food Training Course cancellation
    • In the unlikely event that SFT cancels a course, participants may transfer to another course date (for no additional fee) or they will be issued a refund upon written request. Refunds will be sent after course material is returned. Not applicable to online courses./li>
  • Cancellations: Cancellation requests must be received in writing 14 days before the course date. With the request include the return of any course material and a check for the $30 cancellation fee.

The 90% exam pass rate is determined using traditional participants who have pre-registered a minimum of 10 day before the course. The participant has also read the entire pre course study guide and completed the self study quiz.
